"War Letters" multiscreen film installation.

"War Letters" is a multiscreen film work, based on the story by Kamila Shamsie. Director Alice Nelson commissioned Lewis Gourlay to complete the complex task of weaving the story together from dialogue recordings, film, maps and stop frame animation.

"War Letters" is a multiscreen film work, based on the story by Kamila Shamsie. "War Letters" is one part of "Letters Home", a joint production of multi-award-winning site-specialists Grid Iron Theatre Company and the Edinburgh International Book Festival, where it premiered as part of the Glasgow 2014 Cultural Programme and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014. 
 
War Letters' director Alice Nelson commissioned Lewis Gourlay of Cagoule to complete all post production for the piece. Editing was completed in Premiere CC and compositing in Aftereffects CC. 3D elements were dynamically linked to Aftereffects project from Cinema 4D.
Four 1080P Projectors are fed by a Catalyst Media Player with 5.1 audio playback
War Letters is a fictional correspondence between two Punjab soldiers set during the first world war.

The narrative unfolds through dialogue attached to four locations from where the letters are written.
